Assassin’s Creed (A Movie and a Coffee)

I saw Assassin’s Creed today in theaters.  I play video games about as well and as often as a retarded goldfish, but my sister likes them and I love going to the movies.

Knowing nothing about video games, I thought it was extremely dramatic, but very good.  The only thing I had a serious problem with is that there was not enough explanation for why Cal suddenly changed his mind about helping the Templar toward the end.  All of a sudden he was an Assassin, with not much exposition as to why.  Kind of an important detail to nonverbally gloss over.

Michael Fassbender was perfect in this role.  It’s one of those roles that was practically made for him.

Oh, and I’m sorry, but throughout the entire movie I just kept thinking: Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I had a late night coffee afterward, because you can sleep when you’re dead.  It was a chestnut praline latte.  Being a nutty person myself, I’ve always liked nutty coffee.  I just chilled with a coffee and some music on my headphones for a while.

Tonight we have ice cream with caramel sauce for after dinner.  We still have caramel sauce left over in the fridge from my 23rd birthday, which fell exactly on Thanksgiving this year.  I requested a butterbeer pie a la Harry Potter, which had the consistency of lemon meringue but consisted of caramel, marshmallow fluff, and toffee.
